ABOUT YLS |
Our focus is on delivering services that meet the legal needs of young people. In addition to working directly with young people we provide assistance to others who work with young people in a variety of areas. Our work is guided by principles that are set out in our Service Charter. |
| |
Our service charter acknowledges: |
• |
the uniqueness and dignity of each person |
• |
that justice, truth, integrity and compassion are important principles guiding our service with young people |
• |
that young people have a legitimate right to participate in society |
• |
that we support the terms of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child |
• |
that society, and particularly government, has a special role in encouraging young people to represent their own needs and facilitate a healthy and constructive way for young people to participate within society. |
