Transfer of Active Files

All current and active legal matters have been transferred to Encompass Legal and Community Services Inc.

Clients with active matters have been notified individually.

Closed Files and Archives

Encompass Legal and Community Services Inc. has been appointed as the successor practice and has taken custody of all closed files and archives formerly held by Youth Legal Service.

  • Retention Policy: Hard copies of all closed files will be retained for a period of 3 years from the date of the finalisation of the matter, and electronic copies of all closed files are kept indefinitely.
  • Collection: Former clients wishing to uplift their files should contact the firm at the details above. Identification will be required.

Can Help You

  • Car Accidents (Uninsured): If you've been involved in a car accident and don't have insurance, we can provide guidance on your rights and options.
  • Criminal and Traffic Matters: Been charged with something or had issues on the road? Don’t panic — we can explain your rights and help you figure out your next steps.
  • Victim of Crime and Seeking Compensation: If you've been a victim of a crime, we can help you understand the process of seeking compensation and support you through it.
  • Restraining Orders: Got a restraining order against you, or think you need one to keep someone away? We can give you legal advice to sort it out.
  • Police Interviews and Arrests: If the police want to talk to you, or if you've been arrested, it's super important to know your rights. We can give you urgent legal advice and support right away.
  • Leaving Home: If you're planning on leaving home, we can explain your legal rights and what responsibilities you might have.
  • Unfair Contracts: Signed something that feels totally unfair and you want out? We can check it for you and tell you your options.

Youth Legal Service is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free legal services to children and young people (under 25 years) residing in Western Australia.
